Ask and you shall receive.

So, after thousands of requests, I have finally decided to start a 'blog.' I feel like it is my obligation to give back to those who have made me so successful. I feel so blessed because I have so much money and honestly, I probably have more friends than you do. I don't mean that to come across as insensitive, but through my work I have had the opportunity to meet so many people. I want to say thank you to everyone that I have encountered in my work and for giving me the opportunity to help you in your life.
I assume most of you know who I am, but for those of you that don't I am Dr. Larry Winkle. Welcome back from being under that rock for the last 20 years. I am a world renown life coach. I was named the "Golden Ace up the sleeve for anyone in life" by the East Oregonian newspaper in 1987 and things have only gone up from there. I became famous in the late 80's and it seemed like I couldn't stop making money if I tried. I have lived all over the world and have probably done everything you can imagine. I live by what I call "My five potential wisdom fairies," which is a copyrighted program that I revealed in my ground breaking book "How to find your inner wisdom fairies." I am sure those principles will reveal themselves throughout this blogging experience. By the mid 90's the fame and spotlight started to wear on me, so I decided to get married and take a break from helping other people...yeah that lasted about as long as it did for Jay Z (a hip-hop artist known for Big Pimpin). Too many people knew about my abilities to allow me to hide, so I continue to help people.
This is a blog to give you access to me without paying the $13,000 one-on-one personal coaching fee. This site will give you great perspective, motivation, and inspiration. It will give you a safe haven to ask questions and receive answers to any problem you think you have. Please start all posts while respecting me by saying Dear Dr. Larry Winkle.

Hey!
Great to see you are alive and well. I am a student of Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, and it was there that I found one of your pamphlets tilted "Ready...Set...Jump into your Life" It had a profound impact on my life and the underwater meditation technique has helped me gain back most of the weight I lost. A buddy of mine said you were coming to town again for a campus visit. I was told I can send questions in advance through this blog that you may answer at the symposium. I have had this question on my mind since I finished the pamphlet: When is OK to approach your parents about their gambling addiction? Looking forward to seeing you in August!

Zeke,

First of all, I find your post very offensive. If I had such an impact on your life, then why would you go out of your way to belittle me? I asked anyone that was going to respond to start by addressing me with: Dear Dr. Larry Winkle. What a surprise... you are so worried about yourself and your parents, that you forget to properly respect me and follow my simple directions. You obviously don't follow directions very well, so I wouldn't be surprised if your parents vices are deeper than gambling. Parenting is a discipline, and they apparently didn't use any with you. I promise this will be the last time I respond to someone that does not properly address me.
I don't know who your 'friend' is, but he has misinformed you. I will not be taking questions from this blog and addressing them at my paid lecture. Do you really think someone pays me to stand up in front of a sold out auditorium and read questions I have received on my blog? Well they don't. That is why I set this blog up, so that you have a place to ask questions and I can give you answers.
Look, depending upon how bad your parents gambling is, it could be very serious. The obvious answer to your question is to wait until they run out of money, then go talk to them. Gamblers can't gamble when they don't have anything to lose. But that's not the advice I am going to give you. Your parents need to remember who they are. You forget who you are when you gamble and become someone else. Tell them you want to have a movie night and then put in the movie "Lion King." After the movie, they will be ready to talk (trust me), when I had my gambling problem the only thing that broke through my shield was this movie. Then look at your dad, right in the eye, and say..."Simba, its ok. Just remember who you are." It might open up a very honest discussion with your father. Although it also might be very awkward and turn out very differently than you expect. Its really your choice how he interprets it, don't let him chose. You make the decision. See you in August Zeke.

Dear Dr. Larry Winkle.
I can't believe that jackass read one of your pamphlets and didn't remember the third rule of discipline: Don't ask questions about simple things. I am glad the blog is finally up. Please help me with this dilemma: My career path has hit a dead end and I am considering joining the Peace Corps. Should I join, to experience the altruistic mission of the corps, or should I look for another job? Your time in the corps seems to have helped you tremendously. What should I do?

Steve,
Its obvious that I don't know you (and no, shaking my hand as I was getting off a tour bus in Shreveport, Loiusiana five years ago and telling me about how much I helped you does not count as knowing me. So please don't correct me.)because of the way you look at the world. How does your career path hit a dead end? Great question. It doesn't, because it can't. One of my favorite twists (I learned to always put positive twists on things while I was working for a PR firm)on dead ends is to flip it. If instead of looking at something as a dead end, you think of it as an end of dead with the dead always being an end rather than the end, then the end can't be dead. So think forward.
Its true, that my time in the peace corps helped me tremendously, but I am not sure it will help you as much. Its kind of like cooking. You can put 10 different cooks in the kitchen and tell them to make lunch, but you will end up with 10 different lunches. Hell, half way through one cook might realize he doesn't even want to be a cook and quit. One cook might realize he likes men and doesn't want to waste anymore time in the kitchen. One cook might think you said to make breakfast and serve you scrabbled eggs with a couple pieces of bacon. The point is, you can never tell before hand what your experience is going to be. I can tell you are a quitter. You always will be, unless you have a shift in your mindset. You can't think of things as a dead end or else your right. Of course its a dead end, your looking for another option. If the Peace Corps is something you want to pursue because you love peace and saving seals and stopping international thieves is what appeals to you, then do it. If you just don't know what else to do, then you need to excerise your "Forefrontal View" of the world.

What is Forefrontal View?

Dear Mr. Stupid,
That's not how you properly address me.

Dear Dr. Larry Winkle.

Sorry, I can't believe I did that. I was concentrating too much on your reply to my question. I think I am beginning to understand. Can you please elaborate on Forefrontal View?

Dr. Larry Winkle said...

Steve,
Your "forefrontal view" of the world is the reality in which you manifest your visions and create a solid foundation in which you are able to thrive. If you are hit in the face with a tomato, it will actually hit you before you feel it. Even though it is a macro second until you feel the impact of the tomato, something truly amazing happens. Neurokinetic waves are sent throughout your nervous system and then end up delivering shock impulses to your sense buds, at this point you feel the impact. "Forefrontal View" is in essence the same thing, but instead of occurring before you feel something, it is the time before you think. So when you view something, before you think take action. This is why Nike is so successful, they understand this concept. "Just do it" is a perfect example of a company working in a forefrontal view. Good luck, don't get frustrated. You may do some really stupid things at first because your not use to taking action without thinking. This is a skill that takes a lot of time to master, but it is well worth it.
